When should I call a moving company?
The earlier, the better. It's wise to give your moving company from four to six week's notice, if possible. The more lead time you can give, the more likely we will be able to meet your preferred delivery schedule. All moving companies, for their standard type of service, require varying notice of your pending move. Additionally if your move is arranged in advance often your price will be more competitive and you will have more flexibility when choosing the date of your relocations
How do I obtain a moving quote?
There are a number of ways you can source a price for your move. Whether your moving Locally, Interstate or Overseas it is always better to have a consultant call at your home to estimate your move costs. This will ensure the moving company can assess the access to your property estimating the time required for collection. On site estimates also mean a fixed price to ensure there are no surprises on the moving day. Too often people provide information to moving companies and accidently leave out important information that can incur additional fees on the moving day. Another way is to source a quote online. - Aerosol Cans
- Matches & Firelighters
- Flammable Liquids of ANY KIND
- Dangerous Chemicals of ANY KIND including
- Swimming Pool Chemicals
- Phototgraphic Chemicals
- Gas Cylinders emptied at Authorised Locations
How long is my quote valid for?
Chess Moving Australia quotes are valid for 30 days from date of quote. We do however suggest you advise your predicted
moving date and we can include dates on the quote to ensure the price is fixed.
What of your home is not ready when goods are due for delivery?
Chess Moving Australia have storage facilities Australia wide allowing for transfer of your goods to store for holding
until required. We suggest at the time of quoting your ask for details on storage costs if required.
Does Chess Moving Australia dismantle and re-assemble items?
Dismantling and re-assembly of beds will be included in our quote. However of there are other items requiring this services such as trampolines, desks, large cabinets, flatpack furniture, swing sets, cubby houses, gym sets shelving and other specialist items which cannot be transported assembled.
Does Chess Moving Australia pack personal effects?
Depending on your requirements Chess Moving can complete all your packing. We do provide cartons for personal items such as clothing for you to pack.
Should I take out moving insurance?
While Chess uses the highest standards of care in making sure that your belongings are properly handled and protected there is always the risk of an accident or influences outside our control which may cause damage or even loss of your belongings.

These risks generally increase with distance and different ways of transportation.
