Complete Professional Import Services Provided by Chess Moving 

Apply and obtain Australian Customs clearance (Excludes customs duty or sales tax) 

  • Pick up shipping container at wharf 
  • Unload container into our bonded warehouse for inspection 
  • Apply for Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service ( AQIS ) to clear consignment for delivery to residence. ( Note : AQIS fees are due and payable prior to delivery)residence Australia. Fees may include any additional charges for steam cleaning and fumigation services, if ordered by AQIS.)
  • All terminal handling and local port charges. ( All charges are due and payable prior to delivery, residence Australia, if not pre paid by your overseas agent. )
  • Deliver consignment to residence. ( Deliveries above 1st floor or outside a 50km radius of GPO may be subject to additional charges. If the consignment cannot be delivered within a ten day period, then storage and handling charges may apply. The handling of pianos, pool tables or any item requiring extra staff, may be subject to additional charges, if not already pre paid by your overseas agent )
  • Complete unwrap of all furniture items
  • Complete unpack of all carton contents packed by removalists - contents to be placed on benches, dining tables, etc.
  • Normal reassembly of furniture (Reassembly of flat pack furniture available at additional fee)
  • Removal of waste packing materials
  • Final “walk through” residence with client and Chess Moving supervisor making sure relocation is to client’s satisfaction.
