Some advice on goods that may cause problems in transport...

Freezers

When moving locally, to another suburb in your city, there is no need to empty your freezer.
To prevent odour or mould build-up during Interstate, International and long distance removals freezers need to be emptied, defrosted, cleaned and dried inside.

(We cannot take responsibility for items left in freezers or refrigerators).

Refrigerators

Please ensure everything is removed from the refrigerator and it's been defrosted, cleaned and dried inside. Remove the shelves and pack them separately (we will do this if packing on your behalf). Tie the electrical cord securely out of the way.

Wardrobes, Closets & Bedside Cabinets

Please ensure all items with doors and drawers are empty. Loose items rolling around can be damaged or can cause damage. Pack lamp shades and other valuable delicate items in our special cartons. Our consultant will help with advice in these areas.

Glass Bottles Containing Liquids, Powders & Solids

Please make sure all seals are tight and these items are wrapped and packed securely to avoid shock damage.

Valuable Pictures, Paintings, Murals, Statues, etc

Our consultants are happy to discuss your special packing requirements and the appropriate materials used with you. We can provide custom made crates to ensure a safe journey for all works of art or valuables.

We offer special Transport Insurance for all your valuables. For your peace of mind, make sure you discuss all your concerns with our consultant.

Australian Quarantine

The transfer of some plants interstate may be illegal and your Chess Moving consultant will be able to assist you with this.

It may also be necessary to have your garden equipment, lawn mower and boots thoroughly cleaned before you move interstate - ask your Chess Moving consultant for more details.
